Musical by Guy Bolton, Howard Lindsay, P.G. Wodehouse, and Russel Crouse. The S.S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist, her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt (who is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), and a second-rate conman named Moonface Martin, aka ‘Public Enemy #13’. Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life. Here are a few of the classic Cole Porter songs audiences will enjoy: ‘You’re The Top’, ‘It’s DeLovely’, ‘I Get A Kick Out of You’, ‘Anything Goes’, ‘Let’s Misbehave’, ‘Blow, Gabriel, Blow’, and ‘All Through The Night’. A young teacher on the first day or work begins to rehearse teaching techniques. The teacher’s thoughts begin to take life. The teacher turns on the TV and is drawn into Schoolhouse Rock! The teacher tries to look over the lesson plan. George and company assure the teacher that, with their help, it will be as easy as one, two, ‘Three Is a Magic Number’. This leads right into ‘Unpack Your Adjective’. The teacher pleads that it is necessary to teach other subjects like Social Studies and the helpers are right there for him with ‘Just a Bill’. Shulie reminds the teacher that ‘The Preamble’ was another shining example of the series’ educational value. The company moves into a rousing ‘Circulation’, detaining the circulatory system through a dance craze. Then it’s back to grammar with one of the favorites of the show ‘Conjunction Junction’. Shulie’s interest is sparked as she sings ‘Interplanet Janet’. The company feels that they have done their duty, and the teacher is ready to teach!

This doo-wopping musical pays great tribute to classic horror flicks like ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ ‘The Return of the Living Dead’ and ‘Cemetery High.’ Howie, Louise, Gary and Phoebe are in charge of ‘Zombie Night,’ the annual senior class party. They locate an abandoned farmhouse by an old graveyard, once occupied by the creepy, crawly Dr. Thanatos, who tried to re-animate the dead (gulp!). Vivian and Anne show up, determined to destroy the party. (They’re sore losers who wanted a sock hop instead.) Enter a grim farmer who warns the kids that it’s dangerous to stay. We soon discover why-zombies! While the decorations go up, the zombies shuffle from the graveyard. Cosmic cannibals! It’s zombies versus students! Rated G. Approximate run time: 2 hrs.

The ‘Wordspinner’ and the rhythmic beat of the tom-toms open and close this charming musical adventure for all age groups. Pocahontas is the daughter of the mighty Algonquin Chief Powhatan. The princess delights in playing with Raven, Wolf, and Squirrel. Pocahontas has also made friends with the English settlers of Jamestown, a community struggling with starvation and sickness. This enchanting musical is graced with a wonderful cast of characters: Little Running Rabbit, Brave Eagle, Aunt Morning Star, Forest Spirits, Mother Earth, and of course, the people of Jamestown. Filled with Native American lore and beautiful music, this play is true to the original legend. Audiences will be swept away with DeTurk’s original music, featuring such songs as ‘Live Forever,’ ‘No Common Ground’ and the beautiful ‘Your Heart Always Knows.’ Rated: G
